Thylacine Still Alive?

The last known Thylacine, or Tasmanian Tiger, died in a zoo in 1936. Since then, countless folks have allegedly spotted living Tasmanian Tigers. Giving the occassional rediscovery of supposedly extinct animals, you can’t just totally brush these claims aside (even if most people making the claims are obvious hucksters).

The latest claim of a live Thylacine comes from two German tourists, Klaus Emmerichs and Birgit Jansen who say they took two photos of a Thylacine in March, 2005.

Now, they are headed back to Tasmania to capture the extinct beast on video.

We wish them luck.

Of course, they didn’t help their credibility when they tried to sell their photos for $25,000.
