NOL, the Eastern European UFO Journal, is reporting that the Siberian UFO crash we blogged here is a hoax. Well, we knew it sounded WAY too good to be true and that certainly explains the very sparse press coverage…but at least it got Siberia some google-juice! Read the full report.
From what we can tell, this has been sparsely reported in the Russian press and then picked up by a few other newswires, but apparently “An unidentified flying object has crashed in Krasnoyarsk Region, Siberia, causing a forest fire, the RIA-Novosti news agency reported on Friday.” Here’s the complete source news on this story.

Ex Ministry of Defense official Nick Pope is worried about what might happen should extraterrestrials invade the British Isles (presumably as a first step in rather more ambitious operation). The Evening Standard recently ran a story bringing attention to Mr. Pope:
During his time as head of the Ministry of Defence UFO project, Nick Pope was persuaded into believing that other lifeforms may visit Earth and, more specifically, Britain.
His concern is that “highly credible” sightings are simply dismissed.
And he complains that the project he once ran is now “virtually closed” down, leaving the country “wide open” to aliens.
MysteriousEarth cannot confirm it at this this time, but we’re guessing that there aren’t too many nations well prepared for alien invasion.
